The final six games of the 2011 season will determine whether or not the Oakland Raiders make the playoffs for the first time since 2002. The health of Darren McFadden will go a long way in making that goal a reality. McFadden hasn't played since a Week 7 loss to the Chiefs. In his stead, Michael Bush has done well, although he lacks McFadden's breakaway speed. Update: Friday, Nov. 25 at 11:17 p.m. ET by Kyle VassaloBad news for Raiders fans. NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora says McFadden is "likely will miss at least a few more games while recovering from his foot ...
Sunday was the fifth game in a row that the Oakland Raiders have not scored in the fourth quarter. Is their inefficiency in the fourth quarter something that needs to be fixed or else?Conventional wisdom would say yes, if you can't score in the fourth quarter, how can you possibly win games?Other than fans' blood pressure hitting an unhealthy high during the Cleveland, San Diego and Minnesota games, there was no harm done, the Raiders won.  So yes, they can win games when they fail to score in the final frame.Throw out the Kansas City game (scoring 28 in the fourth ...

Today, your first-place Oakland Raiders take on the Vikings in the Metrodome. Yes, the first-place Raiders. They have a chance to extend that AFC West lead or at least stay on top with a win.The Vikings are out of the playoff picture but are playing for pride. They want to defend their turf. Plus, Jared Allen wouldn't mind padding his sack statistics, Adrian Peterson wouldn't mind racking up the rushing yards and Christian Ponder could use a little practice.Either way, both teams badly want to win. So far, it's looking like the game will come down to who has the more ...

Grandpa has been in jail the past few weeks because of a few recent, let’s call them, “unsuccessful business ventures.” He needs $5,000 for bail so we’ve been trying to raise that money with our weekly NFL bets. Five games a week at $1,000 each. We’re 8-7 the last three weeks. Not bad, but not good enough to get pops out from behind bars.I started to get worried when I didn’t hear from grandpa on Thursday. He always called the house to go over the games for the week that night.I thought maybe grandpa pissed off the wrong guy at county. ...
