You cannot look at a sports page or web site and not find the story about the Oakland Raiders trading for Donovan McNabb. This is one of the most interesting reads, especially for Oakland and Philadelphia fans.   Talking to several die hard Oakland fans, some are excited about this possibility and some are enraged about it. The one consistent thing is there is no middle ground. Either they love it or they hate it; that is what makes it such a great topic of discussion.   We first heard that several teams had contacted the Eagles about their quarterbacks. Buffalo, Detroit, Oakland, Cleveland, ...
Donovan McNabb is perhaps the most undervalued quarterback in NFL today. His services in Philadelphia are not appreciated, and it is sad to see such a great NFL quarterback face pointless scrutiny.  If the fans in Philly don't want McNabb, I know plenty of Raiders fans who would welcome the QB like he were a king. Remember Rich Gannon?  Sure, he wasn't a flashy, mad-bomber or anything. But he got the job done. He had a certain swagger that seemed to bring out the best of his surrounding teammates. And despite getting on players' nerves every once and awhile, Gannon led a Raiders ...
The Oakland Raiders' Bleacher Report team page is more than a place of "fussing and fighting" over who is the best player, coach or team. It is also about educating young people to think, write and to have a voice. It also gives them a chance to use words, statistics, and their love and knowledge of sports to make good decisions. On April 1, 2010 the Mathematical Association of America and other math groups are celebrating Mathematics Awareness Month. The theme this year is "Sports and Mathematics." Damali is flanked by college students who have read many of the articles written on the Bleacher ...
This year, after the combine was over and mock drafts began to show Bruce Campbell going to the Raiders, the fanbase gave out a collective groan: "Not another combine standout!" Even worse, he comes from the same school as the Raiders' last first round draft pick, who happened to be a combine standout and whom many are already proclaiming a bust. But showing outstanding measurables and athletic ability is no reason to scoff at a potential draft pick. If anything it shows a will to better himself, along with great work ethic, and, most obviously, superior physical ability. Darius Hayward-Bey and Campbell aren't the first ...
One rumor buzzing right now is that an unnamed team is interested in trading up with Oakland and is offering a second-round pick this year and a first-round pick next year. A first-round pick in 2011 would offset the pick traded by the Raiders to the Patriots for Richard Seymour. I personally would love such a move, because at eighth overall, the Raiders are in a state of limbo where it is unlikely that the Raiders can fill a need with an impact player.  The best choices all seem to be offensive tackles, so trading down would allow the Raiders to potentially select ...
Rumors abound about a potential trade that would bring Donovan McNabb to Oakland. Whether true or not, it has unleashed a firestorm of speculation and opinion within Raider Nation. Should this trade actually take place, it could have a profound effect on several people within the organization. This slide show will look at the people that McNabb's presence would impact the most in no particular order. I'll be focusing only on the positive aspects for now.Begin Slideshow
There seems to be a cognitive gap in expertise of the Oakland Raiders' coaching staff. However, new coaches are being added so this gap is being addressed. All that is needed now is for the men to learn how to work together for one goal, victories for the Oakland Raiders. Here is an example of what needs to be done. In 1977 a lawyer named Jim Lemond hired me to work with him in a small construction company named Standard Development Corporation. The company was owned by Mr. Mack H. Hannah who was a mentor to Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, who made historical speeches during ...
The combine is over. Free agency is here but the Raiders have been pretty quiet. One trade for an Outside Linebacker. The time has come for Mr. Davis to make his move. This mock draft will reflect just that. I see the Raiders making three very big trades. This is going to be a huge off season for the Raiders. Mr. Davis has been taking his time to make sure that he gets the players he wants, more importantly, the players he needs. These moves are going to help this team win next year. And away we go………………………………. Begin Slideshow
There is a lot of noise going around that the Oakland Raiders might use their 39th overall pick to acquire Donovan McNabb. While this might excite a lot of Raider fans, it doesn't solve the Raiders' No. 1 problem. The Raiders are not a 33-year-old quarterback away from winning a title, but they are a solid offensive line away from competing for one. Jared Gaither is only 24 years old, and was the starting left tackle for the Baltimore Ravens, Hue Jackson's old team. The New York Jets last year almost made the Super Bowl despite the fact that Mark Sanchez had ...
Regardless of the reports on ESPN, I don't believe any of it; until I hear Al Davis speak on the subject nothing in my book is official. I don't care what Adam Schefter, Mike Florio, Michael Lombardi, Can Innman, or Tim Kawakami have to report on the Oakland Raiders; all of these guys are only giving their opinions. None of them speak to Al Davis, therefore anything they report isn't valid. Al Davis is a triple OG mob boss tycoon, in that he never shows his cards until the deal is final. Nobody knows weather he's going after Donovan McNabb or not, but one thing ...
