The Oakland A's have always been a little different, whether it be their former owner Charlie Finley with his so-called crazy ways or the personalities that have drifted through the East Bay. The A's are a storied franchise known for their flamboyant ways, outrages colors on their uniforms and don't forget the white cleats. With a franchise like this, one would have to guess that there would have to be some players with personalities that shined more than those glossy white cleats. Jose Canseco is no exception. This is a guy that had all the talent and potential in the world, but it ...
A man named JaMarcus Russell, along with a few others, have been escorted out of Raider Nation. This is because they received their given time to get things together and still weren't able to produce for the Raiders. How much time a player gets differs based on how much was invested in him, and 2011 is make-or-break season for a few Raiders as they can be shown the gates of Raider Nation. Darren McFadden finally started to show the flashes of greatness Oakland Raider fans expected from him when he was drafted by Al Davis fourth overall in the 2008 NFL draft."D-Mac's" first two seasons were marred by subpar performances due to many contributing factors.Injuries, poor talent around him, horrific quarterback play and an unfamiliar zone blocking scheme were just some of the factors that led to McFadden's perceived failures. When Hue Jackson took over the Raider offense, he brought back the power blocking scheme in which McFadden is much more experienced. The results were the second most prolific rushing attack in the NFL ...
When then-coach Al Davis first came to the Oakland Raiders in 1963, he had a dream to make the Raiders an elite organization—an organization that would set the mark in all areas of football.  This mark of superiority would show in all aspects of the silver and black, beginning with the Raiders' first appearance in the Super Bowl and extending to being the first NFL team to hire a minority coach and even the NFL's first female CEO, Amy Trask. We are all familiar with the saying that "Behind every great man, there's a great woman." Well, this is certainly the ...
With the 48th overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Raiders took guard/center Stefen Wisniewski from Penn State.  After making the pick, Hue Jackson said that Wisniewski was the Raiders starting center immediately. Wisniewski is a bright, intelligent player.  He had a 3.9 GPA in the classroom and was an All-American on the football field.  But playing center in the NFL is a tough job both physically and mentally.  With the lockout now in its third month, Wisniewski has not had the time he needs to prepare and learn the playbook. Usually, rookies have mini-camps and OTA's with the team during the spring ...
When Terrelle Pryor decided not to return to Ohio State University, his name was almost immediately connected to the Oakland Raiders. That could be due to his physical talents and owner Al Davis' love for measurables. It could be due to the fact that Pryor has had some off-the-field issues, and the Raiders do not have a reputation for shying away from those kinds of players. Another reason could be that the Raiders have a serious need for quarterback depth. Whatever the reason, Pryor's name has been connected to the Raiders more than any other team in the National Football League. ...

Visit Raiders Post for excellent Oakland content.Do you remember Johnnie Lee Higgins?Remember how the receiver used to provide a much-needed spark in the kick return game? Or, how he'd provide a nice target for JaMarcus Russell in the middle of the field?Remember his energy-filled touchdown celebrations? Remember the harsh hit he suffered in 2009? The one that has made him non-existent for the past two years? Yes, that's the one.Higgins used to be a solid player, specifically in his 2008 campaign. That year he raked in 22 receptions for four touchdowns while starting three games. However, Higgins contributed to the Raiders ...
Reports have been pouring on to my desk and answering machine that the legendary Oakland Raiders may be returning to Los Angeles. The last time the Oakland Raiders moved to Los Angeles it was a huge plus, as they would soon win a Superbowl with then stars Marcus Allen, Jim Plunkett, Lyle Alzado and Howie Long. Could history possibly repeat itself ?Would a return to Los Angeles in the 21st century be a profitable move for the Raider organization. Is it even possible that Raiders owner, Al Davis, would even consider the move?News of the offer to Oakland began when ...
