You know who you are.  You are the people ESPN has written about: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=5149579 You're the same people who bash Al Davis and our proud organization. You think that you are funny with the cheap insults and put-downs.  You poke fun at JaMarcus' intellect to make yourself feel superior. You are the spoiled brat-biased reporter who every chance he or she gets does their best to belittle the Raiders.  Many of you are not happy that you don't have the type of access to the Raiders like you do the 49ers or other teams.  You don't like the Raiders and despise our blue-collar fans.  You are rooting against JaMarcus because you want ...
Now that the draft has come and gone, we can look at the past few days of minicamp as our next sign of how the team is progressing. Even so, keep in mind that this is just minicamp and after this comes organized team activities and training camp. With that being said, here is a look at what our players are doing.   Day One Surprisingly, Luke Lawton was at practice today even though he is suspended the first four games for using "performance enhancing drugs." With Oren O'neal gone, Lawton might be the primary contender along with Manase Tonga and Rock Cartwright. Lechler was punting to JLH, ...
Will the raiders Turn the channel on Cable? Well, right now would be the perfect time. With such a face-lift on the team, and having the best draft in over a decade, and 5 quarterbacks battling for the starting job, this is when it makes most sense to crown a new king. You'd be hard pressed to see a Raiders fan who wouldn't prefer to see Bill Cowher ,Brian Billick or Marty Shottenheimer come to lead Oakland. With those guys looking for work, and an unproven Tom Cable at the helm! Will Al Davis change out just the crew , or the ...
Mini-camp has opened for the Oakland Raiders and while it's still early, according to most reports the Raiders have found their quarterback. His name is JaMarcus Russell. Yes, that JaMarcus Russell! I've always maintained that quarterbacks develop at all different paces. Some guys get it immediately. Some guys take time. Some never get it. I was nearly convinced JaMarcus was about to fall into the never gets it group. I was prepared to move on. I was thrilled with the acquisition of Jason Campbell. Now, I'm not so sure. JaMarcus lit it up the other day in practice. He completed 21-25 passes and by ...
Bob Geren continues to prove why he isn't fit to manage a baseball team. He doesn't understand the concept that when the starting pitcher is struggling you don't leave them in the game to get shelled.  It's understandable of why Geren doesn't take pitchers out early though. He cares too much about his players, which wouldn't be a bad thing, except for the fact that the A's have consistently been in the bottom rung of the American League West since he took over for Ken Macha.  For example in today's game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Ben Sheets was getting hit hard and ...
There is no time to waste, Oakland Raiders. No more time for losing, Oakland Raiders. Get ready to take that smile off Rowdy's face. Who is Rowdy? He is the mascot for the Dallas Cowboys. Let's look at it another way. In 2009, the Oakland Raiders had a win-loss record of 5-11. The record for the Dallas Cowboys was 11-5 in 2009. It's time for a transformation to turn the results around. Let me stretch your mind for a moment. Let A    =   11     5                  5    11 Now A(t) = 11     5                   5    11 A is a matrix. Now in mathematics if you want a transformation to turn the outcome ...
This weekend’s mini-camp has a different feel to it for many reasons. It would be fair to say that this change of feel is due to the outstanding draft, free agency signings, and coaching additions that the Raiders have had. Last year, the offense was less than stellar. Well, to put it straight, it was really bad at times. This weekend things have been a little different because of the new guy in charge. Hue Jackson, the new offensive coordinator hired by the Raiders this offseason is doing what he does best: motivate, teach, and enforce. Zack Miller said, “He definitely pushes everyone. ...
There is certainly a reason to celebrate the progress of the Oakland Raiders in the category of draft choices in 2010. According to the Sports Weekly, published by USA Today, the Oakland Raiders are among the valedictorians of the class. Three teams received "A" grades: Oakland Raiders Detroit Lions Seattle Seahawks (A+)   Reality stares us in the face. So many have given the Oakland Raiders failing grades. Now, with the excellent rank for outstanding draft choices in the 2010 draft, the self-esteem of the Raider Nation and of the team can rise up, again. The next measure of improvement will be accessed during the preseason when ...
Jason Campbell vs. JaMarcus Russell It looks like JaMarcus Russell is trying to salvage his NFL career. The Raiders QB has apparently come into camp in shape and focused according to a report by ESPN. Russell apparently feels the pressure now that the Raiders have acquired Jason Campbell for a 4th round pick from the Redskins. My take: Campbell is the better NFL quarterback and will win the job by August. Brady Quinn vs. Kyle Orton vs. Tim Tebow This is one of the more interesting quarterback battles in the NFL. ...
It is a horrible thought, but one to consider, knowing that Al Davis controls the team. Oakland last year in the offseason heard a lot about Javon Walker, his "unknown" surgical procedure and his rant that he was ready to prove people wrong. He played the part of his own doctor, declaring himself fit and ready for the season. How much did he play, last year? According to the files at www.pro-football-reference.com ,three games, one punt return. And fumbled once. How much money, did Javon Walker get for that fumble? Waaaay too much. Walker is now gone, still holding onto the belief that he can turn it around, ...
