It's been almost a dozen years since the Oakland Raiders had a winning season. Since reaching Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003, the Raiders have gone 53-123 with zero postseason appearances.  It appeared that the Silver and Black had finally turned the corner in 2010 and 2011 after posting back-to-back 8-8 records, but consecutive 4-12 seasons in the years to follow have few believing in Oakland heading into the new season. Making matters worse, the Raiders' 2014 regular-season schedule ranks as the toughest of any team in the league, with Oakland's 13 opponents boasting a combined 2013 win percentage of .578. Only four of ...
The Oakland Raiders have the 5th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft? The Oakland Raiders traded quarterback Terrelle Pryor to the Seattle Seahawks for a seventh-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft on Monday. Pryor was late owner Al Davis’ final draft pick, a third-round pick in the 2011 supplemental draft. The Raiders ultimately forfeited what would have been the 78th overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft for Pryor. Raider Nation had hoped that Pryor could develop into something special. For a brief period, he was. It’s as if hope became reality doused in lighter fluid and everything went up in flames with a simple spark. Pryor is now just the latest ...
Re-grading the Oakland Raiders' past five drafts is fitting considering that the 2014 NFL draft is just around the corner. Coming off back-to-back 4-12 seasons, the Raiders have struggled over the last half-decade to build a solid core of playmakers they can rely on. Regardless of what side of the ball you look at, it's once again going to be up to general manager Reggie McKenzie to trek on and find a way to improve this franchise's outlook. In this list, each draft's grade is determined by a player's overall performance and corresponding draft position. Though some players have left and went on to ...
The 2014 NFL draft will be the most important part of the Oakland Raiders’ offseason, as they will need to come away from with several impact players to ensure the rebuilding project remains headed in the right direction. While Reggie McKenzie and his staff most certainly need to hit on their early selections, they'll also need to land impact players in later rounds in what is being touted by some as the deepest draft in many years. Because of this depth, players who would have gone earlier in previous drafts will be available in the later rounds this year. Thus, these prospects ...
The Oakland Athletics went on the road for their first away series this season against the Minnesota Twins. It was an interesting series for many reasons, not the least of which was the fact the three-game set spanned four days—on purpose. Then again, Oakland has had its fair share of unexpected scheduling conflicts over the first two weeks, so a planned day off after the Twins’ season opener shouldn’t be that big of an oddity. Not to mention that all three games were during the day, an interesting quirk for fans following out west who were just getting to the office pouring ...
The Oakland Raiders could use depth at quarterback, but it isn't their primary need. Can they steal an under-the-radar prospect on the second day of the NFL draft? Watch as Adam Lefkoe and Bleacher Report NFL analyst Chris Simms identify which sleeper QB the Raiders should target in the video above. Read more Oakland Raiders news on BleacherReport.com
Now with just one month to go until the 2014 NFL draft, prospect projections and mock drafts are once again taking over the internet.  The Raiders are one team that will be hard to read heading in this year, as there are several different directions they could choose to go with their pick at fifth overall. Although they have made a number of key additions in a busy free agency period, quarterback, receiver, offensive line and defensive line all remain realistic options in the first round.  As these varying expert predictions show, arguments can be made for either of which as the Raiders ...
Now that free agency has started to wind down, the Oakland Raiders and their general manager Reggie McKenzie deserve credit for the job they've done. As a whole, the entire free-agency process is a grueling one.  Jack Bechta of the National Football Post wrote an amazing, in-depth piece detailing what really goes on from the time the season ends until free agency officially opens its doors. You may not agree with McKenzie's philosophy of bringing in veteran players, but the one thing he made sure of is that the Raiders are going to go out and compete next season. McKenzie is in a tough place ...
The Oakland Raiders traded for Matt Schaub this offseason but are still looking for their quarterback of the future. Will they select a QB in the early rounds of the 2014 NFL draft?  Which prospect are they targeting? Watch as Adam Lefkoe and FOX Sports Radio's Lincoln Kennedy discuss the Raiders' odds of landing each of the top QB draft prospects in the video above.Read more Oakland Raiders news on BleacherReport.com
